These portraits and approximately 800 photos
of sculptural fragments shot in the archeological museum in Athens, Greece,

were used to create an interactive sequence in which the software randomly picks animation frames from a database of 600 files and creates an ever-changing loop. The sequence references Greek and Roman archeological artifacts and mixes them with contemporary portraits shot and edited with digital techniques.
By interacting with Cycles the animation frame rate and speed changes altering our perception of the piece raising questions regarding the cognitive process of remembering reality (memory) as a recollection of fragments alternating in front of our eyes and brain at a variable pace. As viewers interact with Cycles, the software also keeps track of viewer participation and eventually skips forward to run new sequences.

The composite portrait series seeks to map out the temporal and psychological distance between emotional states of being and gestural traits.
